Animal Extremist Groups Target Our Heritage and Way of Life
Animal rights activists have a specific goal: Ending the use of animals by humans for any reason. This includes food, labor, entertainment, and exhibitions such as rodeo, bull riding, horse racing, pony rides, Charreria, and similar events. Their ideology and mentality are plainly stated in everything animal extremists say and do. They do not care that they are threatening historic, cultural traditions.
Animal extremist groups have been targeting individual sectors of the Western sports industry for decades, including reining, tie-down roping, bull riding, team roping, mutton busting, and pony rides. As an industry, we must show a united front to protect our livelihoods, lifestyle, and the true welfare of the animals we hold dearly.
Bills and Ordinances Target Sectors of the Western Sports Industry to Set Precedents for Neighboring Cities to Follow
Historically, animal extremist-based legislation has been initiated in highly populated urban areas, where there is a vast disconnect between people and animals. Therefore, promoting the animal extremist agenda to unwitting participants is easier. To set a precedent, several animal rights extremist groups are proposing banning Western sports equipment, including ropes, spurs, bits, and flank straps, to pass legislation in their respective cities. States like California, Florida, and New York are somewhat “canaries in the coal mine” for revealing animal extremist campaigns.
