The Time For Talk Is Over

  •  WHY:  For far too long, the western horse industry has been under attack by extremist special interest groups.  Unfortunately, the existing organizations that could and should fight for the horse industry have instead remained mostly silent regarding some of our industry’s most pressing issues—and some have even chosen to be complicit with extremists by offering them a seat at the policy-making table.

  • WHO:  Instead of having purported leaders remain passive or pandering to those who are actively seeking to destroy our lifestyles and livelihoods,  the western horse industry needs an unwavering, educated voice in order to be represented with integrity and focus on what is truly best for our animals and the lives built around them.  We will not cower in the face of the tough issues.

  • WHAT:  Straight-forward, no-nonsense education, outreach, and advocacy.

  • WHEN:  The time to save our industry is now before it is truly too late.  Extremist special interest groups have been allowed to run rough-shod over us, insidiously working behind the scenes to pass harmful laws, while those in a position to combat them have done nothing.

  • WHERE:  Western Justice will be where it matters most informing and educating those who create industry policy and those who make local, state, and federal laws.

  • HOW:  Western Justice is here for all of you—for the top open level cutters, number 9 team ropers, jackpot barrel racers, rodeo cowboys, ranchers riding the range, horse breeders, and weekend trail riders.  We are here to fight for you and for your rights. We stand for the true well-being of our animals and our industry.  We cannot do it without you—your membership allows us to educate and inform those who hold the keys to our future.

Animal extremist groups are hard at work pushing legislation and ordinances at the city, county, state, and federal levels.

Below are a few of the more recent threats:

•    Mutton busting banned at local rodeos
•    Proposed rodeo ban in Los Angeles
•    Proposed ban on all livestock exhibitions and sales in California
•    Proposed ban on rodeo in New York state
•    Proposed ban on all livestock sales in New York state
•    S.A.F.E. ACT – threatens equine welfare
•    P.A.C.T. ACT – threatens animal welfare by restricting common animal husbandry practices
•    ELD Mandate – Extension is expiring soon

The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred with dust and sweat; who strives valiantly; who errs and may fall again and again because there is no effort without error or shortcoming.
